"Fruit is nature's candy"

Hello everyone, i'm going to give you a little insight into how i start my mornings. First thing i do when i wake up is drink a litre of water (sometimes with lemon). Your metabolic rate increases about 25% by drinking water on an empty stomach. This also aids in faster digestion. :) most days i begin my mornings with a smoothie i do this because smoothie's don't bloat me and they keep me full up to lunch. A little banana tip, i always wait for my bananas to be really ripe then freeze them, this makes them taste sweeter. Here's some of my favourite recipes, i hope you all enjoy them as much as i do. :) All of the smoothies make for 1 person but just add extra ingredients if it's for more.

The banana bowl

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 frozen bananas 

  • 1 teaspoon blue spirulina 

  • 3 strawberries 

  • 1/2 cup almond milk 

  • cacao nibs and coconut shreds for decoration 

  • 1 tea spoon maple syrup

Directions:

In the blender add the bananas, almond milk and maple syrup, blend blend blend. Put into bowl and add spirulina and stir around (you can add it in the blender if you prefer) sprinkle your cacao nibs and coconut shreds in your bowl. Chop and strawberries and add.

You can add fresh topped bananas to this too if you want.

The pink panther

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries (sliced)

  • 2 dates 

  • 1 table spoon oats

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

  • a couple of ice cubs 

  • 1 cup of plant based milk

Put all ingredients into blender and blend blend blend. For toppings i used granola, fresh strawberries and halo top ice cream (or your choice of dairy free ice cream.

The ocean dweller 

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup strawberries (sliced)

  • 2 tea spoons blue spirulina (i used the ocean blend from unicorn super foods).

  • 3 bananas 

  • 1 table spoon vegan protein powder 

  • 1 cup coconut (or any plant based milks) 

Directions:

put 1 1/2 banana's, the strawberries and 1/2 of coconut milk in the blender and blend blend blend. Pour into jar, add 1 1/2 banana's, the protein powder, the spirulina and half a cup of coconut milk into the blender and blend away. Pour into the jar . For toppings i used coconut yogurt and watermelon.

The cookie crusher

Ingredients:

  • granola (optional for the bottom) 

  • 2 frozen bananas 

  • 1/4 cup of oats

  • 1 and a half dates 

  • 1 table spoon of peanut butter 

  • 1 - 2 cups of almond milk (add more if needed)

  • a teaspoon of cocoa 

 

Directions:

put a couple of tables spoons of granola at the bottom of your jar or glass :) then put all of the remaining ingredients in to your blender except the cocoa. blend blend blend. Then pour half of your mix into your jar and add cocoa in your remaining mix and blend again. Then pour the cocoa mix into the jar and mix. For toppings i used, cocoa nibs, melted chocolate and halo top ice cream.

The strawberry sunrise

Ingredients:

  • 1 and a half frozen bananas 

  • 4 frozen strawberries (i buy mine fresh then freeze)

  • 2 table spoons of plain coconut yogurt ( i use nudie but any's fine)

  • 1 teaspoon hemp seeds (optional) 

  • 1/2 cup of any plant based milk (i used the half coconut half almond milk)

Directions:

Add all ingredients into blender and blend blend blend. For toppings i used coconut yogurt, berry sauce (homemade) and berries.

The green goodness

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen bananas 

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup 

  • 1 teaspoon green spirulina 

  • 1/2 cup almond milk 

  • 1 teaspoon hemp seeds

  • 1/2 of frozen mango chunks 

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla protien 

  • Optional for toppings (Peanut butter, banana, watermelon and cocoa nibs for toppings)

Directions: 

Add all ingredients beside the toppings into a blender and blend away until smooth. Pour into bowl and add desired toppings. I used a scoop of PB, a banana, a piece of watermelon and cocoa nibs.

The coffee crusher 

Ingredients:

  •  2 frozen bananas 

  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee (with a dash of boiling water)

  • a dash of vanilla extract 

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup coconut cream

  • 1 teaspoon peanut butter (optional)

  • 1/2 cup of almond milk

Directions:

Put all ingredients into a blender and blend blend blend. Pour into jar and add toppings, i used salted caramel halo top ice cream with cocoa as sprinkles.

The acai bowl 

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack frozen acai berries (roughly 100g) 

  • 1 frozen banana 

  • 1 tea spoon hemp seeds 

  • 1 tea spoon maple syrup

  • 1 cup liquid, either almond milk or coconut water

  • (for toppings i used, strawberries, mixed nuts, peanutbutter, melted chocolate and coconut flakes).

 

Directions:

Add all ingredients apart from toppings into blender and blend away :) then pour into a bowl and add toppings of your choice.

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas 

  • 1/4 coconut yogurt 

  • 1 teaspoon blue spirulina (from unicorn superfoods) 

  • 1 cup non-dairy milk of your choice 

  • 1/2 an avocado 

  • a couple of cubes of ice

  • (for toppings i used strawberries, chai seeds and mixed nuts)

 

Directions:

Add all the ingredients apart from toppings into blender and blend away. Pour into bowl and add toppings of your choice.

The peanutbutter jelly

Ingredients

  • 1 and a half frozen bananas 

  • 1 cup of plant based milk

  • 1 and a half table spoon peanut butter 

  • 1/2 a cup of frozen strawberries 

  • 3 ice blocks

add all ingredients into a blender and blend blend blend. Pour into a jar and add toppings. i used coconut yogurt, smoothie peanut butter, 80% melted dark choc.

The refresher

LOW CALORIES

This smoothie is roughly 240 calories and its delicious..

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen bananas 

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup 

  • 10 halves of frozen strawberries 

  • 1/2 cup almond milk 

  • a table spoon of coconut yogurt or cream 

  • 1 teaspoon pink pitaya powder (i used mine from unicorn superfoods) 

Directions: 

Add all the ingredients into the blender and blend blend blend :) i topped mine with an edible flower and a strawberry.

The lean machine 

Ingredients:

  •  2 frozen bananas 

  • teaspoon of alkalising greens (i used mine from unicorn superfoods 

  • half a cup of frozen mango 

  • 1/4 cup spinach 

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of maple 

  • 1 cup almond milk 

  • for toppings watermelon, coconut yogurt and strawberries 

Add all ingredients beside the toppings into a blender and blend away. Pour into glass and add toppings, you can add whatever you want. I used a scoop of coconut yogurt, a fresh strawberry and a couple of slices of watermelon.
